Name:

Graham Bean.

What is your role?

Botanical Stamp Collection Cataloguer.

Which Museum do you volunteer at?

National Museum Cardiff

How long have you been volunteering with the Museum?

Since December 2008.

What do you like about volunteering with the Museum?

Contributing to the educational and specialised information that the Museum holds and in a field totally different to my career. It also makes use of my interest in Philately.

What made you first think about volunteering with the Museum?

The Volunteer Coordinator at the Museum got in touch with us at the Cardiff Philatelic Society ...otherwise I would have been unaware that such roles or the Botanical Stamp Collection existed!

What would you say to recommend volunteering to others?

Expert knowledge in a specific field is not always a requirement and it is rewarding knowing that you are contributing to a project and supporting the valuable work that staff undertake at the Museum. You can also fit the time in to suit you own needs.
