Curriculum Cymreig Learning at St Fagans: National History Museum

Introduction to the new gallery: Oriel 1

Learn about family life in the nineteenth century; the different beliefs in Wales; listen to Welsh music; see traditional instruments and capture some of Wales’s most famous sporting achievements. Each tour can be tailored to your needs.

Belonging to Wales today

Pupils can create their own display for the gallery by selecting objects and writing their own stories. Develop students’ knowledge and understanding of the cultural, historical and linguistic characteristics of Wales. Invaluable for Curriculum Cymreig.

Workshops will provide an opportunity to learn about lovespoons through storytelling and images. Will include a chance for pupils to design their own spoon.

Guessing games

An opportunity to participate in different activities including dressing up, finding objects and making toys.

Art

An opportunity to take part in art activities that respond to the exhibition ‘First Language’ by Mary Lloyd Jones.
