Expertise and interests
Systematics and biology of Auchenorrhyncha (leafhoppers, plant hoppers etc.), particularly in the Palaearctic region. Also interest in those species associated with crops, including rice and in vector species.
Current projects
- Preparation of a revised handbook to British Fulgoroidea (with Alan Stewart, University of Sussex) and faunistic studies on British Auchenorrhyncha.
- Taxonomic studies on the family Meenoplidae (Fulgoroidea).
- Studies on the biology of Prokelisia (Delphacidae) in Portugal.
