'Nora' the first steam locomotive to run the Pontypool & Blaenafon Railway has returned home to Big Pit: National Mining Museum of Wales after twenty-one years, and will go on display at the former working colliery. 'Nora', and other rolling stock that have been housed at the Pontypool & Blaenafon Railway and the Museum of Welsh Life, St Fagans were moved to Big Pit: National Mining Museum of Wales during a major operation, taking a number of days.

The construction of the flagship National Waterfront Museum in Swansea reached another milestone today when First Minister Rhodri Morgan and Culture Minister Alun Pugh switched on the building's power supply.

Raphael's exquisite masterpiece Madonna of the Pinks will be on loan to the National Museum & Gallery this Summer giving the Welsh public the opportunity to see this recently acquired work as part of a UK-wide tour (3 July - 19 September).
