Forget the Oscars — get star spotting at Swansea’s National Waterfront Museum instead!

Over a century ago, when money was tight in the quarrying areas of north Wales, many families moved to the United States to look for a better life in the Granville area of Upstate New York. In 1964, a fresh-faced young historian started work at the Welsh Folk Museum at St Fagans. Dr Robin Gwyndaf has become synonymous with the Museum and its ground-breaking research in the fields of Folklore and Oral History. This spring, Dr Gwyndaf, Curator of Folklore, retires from St Fagans National History Museum, but leaves a legacy and collection unrivalled to any other in Wales and maybe the world.
