EDUCATION - what's on offer?

Digging for Vikings gives a unique chance to experience archaeology as it happens through the Internet. Many aspects of the dig at Llanbedrgoch could be incorporated into schemes of work and will facilitate the development of the key elements. This will ensure that your school curriculum is as up to date as possible, whilst offering an entertaining and stimulating historical experience for pupils.

HOW DOES IT MEET NATIONAL CURRICULUM REQUIREMENTS?

Accessing the dig via our web pages will allow you to see how the experts question existing historical knowledge and understanding regarding Viking settlements. The dig provides further clues as to the nature of settlement and place-names. Your pupils will be able to frame their own questions regarding the homelife, art and religion of the Vikings at the settlement. They can then e-mail these directly to the team.
