Inventions - Learning: National Waterfront Museum
Duration:
2 sessions each lasting 1 hour.
Capacity:
2 groups of up to 30 pupils in each.

Key Stage 2.
Purpose:
To learn about the inventions and innovations that has taken place in Wales.
Character Actor Session:
During this facilitated session in the morning, children will meet Mr Trevithick, a character actor, who will tell them about his famous invention- the world’s first steam locomotive. Children will learn about the exciting story that took place in Merthyr Tydfil and about the difficulties Mr Trevithick had to overcome to get his machine moving.
Machines and Inventions work booklet:
During this teacher led session, the class will break into groups (each led by an adult) to complete a work booklet about the important machines and innovations that have occurred within Welsh industry, both past and present.
