Waterfront celebrates the world of Welsh Folk

Join the world of Welsh folk music this Sunday 6 May, 1pm at the National Waterfront Museum, Swansea.

Organised with trac: Traddodiadau Cerdd Cymru / Music Traditions Wales, the Museum is staging its first live folk event with performances from three of Wales' most established music bands, The Gentle Good, Carreg Lafar and Taran. Visitors can also take part in clog dancing and instrumental workshops (from 10.30am), children's activities and a hunt the hidden clog trail!

It is time to PEEP at a new exhibition

The National Waterfront Museum is proud to be home to a brand new photography exhibition.

On display until 27 May, PEEP - Promoting Early European Photography draws together pioneers from Iceland, Slovakia, England and Wales, showcasing beautiful photographs from the 1850s to the 1930s.

Titian's 'Diana and Actaeon' masterpiece on display at National Museum Cardiff

Visitors to National Museum Cardiff have a unique opportunity to see one of the most important paintings of the Italian Renaissance this springtime. Titian’s famous painting ‘Diana and Actaeon’ will be coming to Cardiff on a tour from the National Gallery, London and will be displayed from 19 April – 17 June 2012. There will be a late night opening at National Museum Cardiff until 7.30pm on Thursday 19th April for visitors wishing to view the acclaimed 16th-century Venetian masterpiece.

National Wool Museum Reaches 30,000 Visitors for the First Time

For the first time ever theNationalWoolMuseumat Dre-fach Felindre has reached an annual visitor figure of over thirty thousand. Latest figures show that from April 2011 to March this year 30,378 people visited the Museum, up nearly 10% on the previous year, according to Museum figures.

National Wool Museum Poet Awarded at the National Poetry Competition

Samantha Wynne-Rhydderch from New Quay who is currently the poet in residence at the National Wool Museum and has been awarded second prize in the National Poetry Competition, announced at a prize giving ceremony in London on 28 March.
