Q. I want to add sequential line numbers to each line to make it easier to review. How can I do this?
A Turn on the line numbering feature.
- Go to File Page Set-up
- Click the layout tab.
- Place a tick in the line numbering check box
- Choose your option for continuous or new numbers for each page and increments.
To turn off line numbering go to page set-up then layout and remove the tick from the line numbering check box.
Q. How can I undo an AutoFormat change?
A. Press the backspace key before you do anything else
Q. How can I number the rows in my table?
A. Select the rows or column and then click the numbering button on the toolbar
Q. I have inserted a water mark but it is obscuring the text.
A. Go to the draw menu and choose Order then Send behind text
Q. How can I draw a square instead of a rectangle?
A. Hold the shift key while dragging, this will constrain the shape to a square rather that a rectangle. I t will also constrain an ellipse to a circle
Q. I have created a table at the top of a document and I cannot place the typing cursor above it to type in a paragraph.
A. You need to force a new paragraph at the top of the page. Place the insertion bar in the top leftmost cell. Go to the Table menu and click Split table. Your typing cursor will be in a new paragraph at the top of the page.
Q. The Office assistant pops up offering help when I begin activities. How can I stop this annoying behaviour?
A. A. Right click on the assistant and from the pop up menu choose options. Remove the check from Guess help topics and help with wizards if desired.
