Emrys Roberts is the author of the poem sung to greet the winner of the Prose Medal during the Gorsedd ceremony on the Eisteddfod stage.

Here Abigail Sara sings the first verse (of five) at the Newport and District National Eisteddfod, 2004.

Translation:

'We extend to you the acclaim of our great festival,
We sing a melody to the prose writer of our festival;
Your way (of writing) has the charm of August days,
Your style the long summer's day
and its tinkle is like the old wealth of stories and their construction …
