Explore the Sea Floor visits a wharf!
The education officers for Explore the Sea Floor (Lara Murphy) and the Mineral Wealth- Seabed Health project run by the Marine Biological Association and National Marine Aquarium Plymouth (Lauren Taylor) visited Burnley Wharf in Southampton to have a close look at an aggregate dredger and see the aggregate being discharged to the wharf. It was very interesting to go on board and see first hand how marine aggregates are discharged onto land.
Many thanks to Mark Russell of BMAPA, Rob Langdon of Hanson and all on the City of London dredger for a very informative visit.
