Introduction: arsenolite typically develops as a supergene alteration product of primary hydrothermal arsenic-bearing minerals.
Occurrence in Wales: arsenolite is one of a number of minerals listed from the Dolgellau Gold-belt by Readwin (1888) and not found, despite much investigation, since. It is therefore regarded as a dubious occurrence.
