Peregrine

Welcome back to Peregrines on the Clock Tower 2011!

From 1 April – July 2011

Pop into National Museum Cardiff 10am–4pm Tuesday–Sunday to find out more about these fascinating birds. The RSPB will be outside the Museum with telescopes and binoculars for you to use to get close-up views.

For the fifth year in a row the birds have returned to their nesting site on the City Hall Clock Tower. The peregrines, named Gavin and Stacey by a local school, first nested on the clock tower in 2007, after chasing off a pair of ravens and taking their nest. Breeding success has been mixed over the last few years. Last year the falcons reared 4 chicks, but only 2 of them successfully left the nest. We're hoping for another successful breeding season this year.

New!

Visit the peregrine display in the Museum to see the new web camera, which gives great close-up views of the peregrines!
