The Christmas Fayre is a wonderful opportunity to explore National Museum Cardiff after dark.

Take advantage of extending evening opening on Tuesday 9 December and Tuesday 16 December (10:00am-8:00pm).

Listen to festive music and live carol singing, enjoy family activities, or just relax and take in the atmosphere with a warming glass of mulled wine and a mince pie.

Buy unique gifts away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre in the Museum shop, open for business until 8:00pm.

While all galleries will be open inside, be amazed at the Snow Queen (9 December) and Jack Frost stilt walkers (16 December) and fire jugglers outside the museum, all with hot chestnuts under the portico.

Peruse the 13 different Craft Stalls, which sell gifts ranging from jewelry, ceramics and paintings to kitchenalia, handbags and babies clothing.

Ruth Morgan from CBeebies and Bobinogs will be storytelling (Sglod a Chips series - bilingual) and signing books, there’s the chance to meet Father Christmas in the Natural History galleries from 12:00pm - 7.30pm, as well as hands-on family activities in Glanely Discovery Gallery.

Hot soup, snacks, pastries and cakes will also be available at the Museum Coffee Shop.

Cardiff County & Vale of Glamorgan Symphonic Brass will perform sets from 5:00pm-7.30pm on both evenings, while the Museum Staff Choir performs on 16 December at 4:30pm.
