Easter at St Teilo's Church
As the high point of the Christian year in Tudor Wales, Easter would have been a very busy time at St Teilo’s Church in 1520.
Not only used for worship and meditation, the building would have been a backdrop for social events and entertainment. Even sporting events, such as cockfighting, would take place in the churchyard.
According to beliefs at the time, the consecrated ground could cancel out any performance-enhancing spells or charms cast on the participants.
Join the Learning Interpreter for a refreshing look at the building and its history. Explore the colourful role of the church in Welsh Tudor life and gain a new perspective on the Church’s beautifully reconstructed wall-paintings and carvings.
There will be a short question and answer session at the end of each tour.
There's also plenty of Easter Fun to be had at St Fagans this year!
