Strikes and Riots
An in-depth look into troubled times throughout Wales's industrial history.
What drives workers to down tools and strike? Are bosses always wrong and unions always right, or does the mob always cause trouble?
Conflict, drama, strong opinions and forceful arguments from Rebecca's Daughters to the Colliery Gate - whose side are you on?
This exhibition looks at strikes and riots relating to work and employment over a period of 200 years, concentrating in particular on 5 events - the Rebecca Riots (19th century), Merthyr Riots (19th century), Tonypandy Strikes and Riots (early 20th century), Llanelli Strikes and Riots (early 20th century), and Caia Parc, Wrexham Riots (early 21st century).
This is an exhibition of photographs and text, provoking debate.
