Wales's forgotten cartoon star is returning to the limelight - 90 or so years after he disappeared from the cinema screen.

Few have ever heard of Jerry the Troublesome Tyke, a pioneering animated dog who graced the big screen at Cardiff's Capitol Cinema in the 1920s.

But now episodes of the unique early work by projectionist Sid Griffiths have been rescued and digitally remastered, and a brand new score for chamber orchestra by Welsh BAFTA-winning composer John Rea have been added. These will be performed live for the first time, and three of the film scores have never been performed before, so you'll be treated to three World Premieres in one night!

The acclaimed film maker Paul Islwyn Thomas, who commissioned and screened the films during his tenure as Head of Music and Arts at BBC Wales, will also regale us with interesting stories about the films themselves, the nature of early animated film of the 1920s, and Sid's life, what little is known of it.
So, come and enjoy Jerry's mad cartoon escapades accompanied by live orchestra, and let the laughs begin!
