Ask the Gardener: An introduction to Apple Pruning

Call into Kennixton orchard to learn the basics of apple prunig - when, why and how. We'll look at formative pruning for young trees as well as maintenance pruning for established trees.
Top Tip: Tie a grease band (available from most garden centres) around the tree trunk and stake a few feet above the ground between October and April to stop Winter Moth damaging the tree. Remove and burn in April.
