Behind the scenes: Biodiversity

This event has finished. 4 Dec 2012, 1.05pm (National Museum Cardiff is open for most Bank Holidays, please check prior to your visit to ensure the museum will be open.)

Come behind-the-scenes to meet our museum scientists.

Take the opportunity of some hands-on experience of the work they do and find out more about our research and how we look after the collections in our care. Topics change each month.

This month: 'What did the owl have for lunch?'

Visit the Vertebrate Store and see some of our newly acquired vertebrate specimens and our collection of skeletons.  You may also catch sight of a few specimens which will shortly be going out on display. As part of the tour you will have the opportunity to find out what the the owl had for lunch.

Find out by looking for jaw bones and skulls in its pellets and identify the animal they came from by comparing them to images of specimens from the collections.

Some visits may be unsuitable for visitors with restricted mobility; call: (029) 2057 3148 for advice.
