We're pleased to host the Geological Society in south Wales’ 21st birthday with a celebration of geology.

Visit the main hall for geological displays and come behind the scenes of the Geology Department to meet the museum scientists, find out about their research, and discover how they look after the collections.

Special Lecture with Professor Iain Stewart (presenter of Volcano Live, How to grow a planet, Men of Rock & How Earth Made Us), Reardon Smith Lecture Theatre, book on arrival.

1 and 2pm

Behind-the-Scenes tours of the Geology Department, book on arrival, places limited. Please note that these tours may not be suitable for people with mobility restrictions. Not suitable for under 8’s.
