 Julian Stair is one of the world's most acclaimed ceramicists. This major solo exhibition explores the containment of the human body after death.
 It features a collection of Stair's very beautiful funerary vessels, from cinerary jars to monumental life-size sarcophagi.
 Drawing upon the symbolic language of ceramic vessels, it offers an alternative means of engaging with this challenging subject.
 Quietus is a touring exhibition in collaboration with mima: Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art.
