Art - Margam Pictures
These notes will give you information about two historic paintings of Margam House as well as lots of backgound notes and ideas for work at school.
Lecture - Human Rights Human Wrongs
The talk will reflect on the imagery that has informed perceptions of civil rights, ranging from historic events such as the Selma to Montgomery March and Martin Luther King’s “I have a Dream” speech, to the independence movements in many African countries as well as more recent examples of injustice within wider global conflicts. Here the historical and contemporary roles of photography to validate and question the case for civil and human rights will be examined from different perspectives.
The event is FREE but booking is essential as places are limited. See attached flyer for details.
Studentswill be led through the process of looking at and analysing an art work, through a study of 4 artworks. If you would like to study specific works during this session please let us know.

Take a look at the work of museum scientists in the Natural History department, and explore some of our vast collections.
Evidence for Evolution

Students can use the Museum’s collections to find evidence for evolution, through exploring fossils, the pentadactyle limb, comparative anatomy and the tree of life.
In this 1hour* session pupils will explore the chemical reactions that take place in the Museum and how and why we try to prevent them
Art Workshops - Looking, Thinking and Making
During these workshops, which will be tailored to the needs of your group, pupils will take part in an interactive tour and discussion and work with an artist to create their own creative response. This is an opportunity to explore themes such as the landscape and folklore of Wales in a new exhibition Wales Visitation: Poetry, Romanticism and Myth in Art.
