Artes Mundi 6 - Gallery workshops

National Museum Cardiff

Artes Mundi, a major international contemporary art exhibition and the UK’s biggest art prize, returns, bringing some of the world’s most pioneering artists to National Museum Cardiff, Chapter and Ffotogallery. This must-see exhibition will feature ground-breaking work including film installations, sculpture, painting and performance. The overarching theme is the human condition and, within this, the artists explore many themes which have relevance to our everyday lives.

These workshops will encourage students to develop their own personal response to the exhibition through a range of activities. Each workshop can be adapted for Foundation Phase, KS2, KS3, KS4, A/AS level, as well as the Welsh Baccalaureate and pupils with special educational needs.

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Art Gallery visit - Impressionist and Modern Art

These notes have been developed to give you information about individual works within the impressionist and modern art galleries as well as suggestions of how to talk to your pupils about the works.

Please note that gallery 12 (Modern Art from 1930), gallery 14 (Art after Cezanne) and gallery 15 (British Art around 1900) have changed and are showing the Richard Wilson exhibiiton.
