Introduction: berthierite tends to occur in low-temperature hydrothermal vein associations along with other antimony-bearing species such as stibnite and jamesonite.
Occurrence in Wales: berthierite is one of a number of minerals that were reported from the Dolgellau Gold-belt by Readwin (1888) and have not been observed since. This record therefore requires confirmation.
