Big Pit Celebrates Quality Award

Big Pit is celebrating this week after achieving the highest quality award possible on Trip Advisor.

The website, which encourages visitors to post reviews of places they have visited, has recognised Big Pit’s success by marking its ‘five star’ rating, as awarded by visitors.

Peter Walker, Keeper and Mine Manager said: “We always strive to give every visitor the best possible experience, and the reviews posted on Trip Advisor prove to us that we are succeeding.  Big Pit has had 93 reviews, and virtually all of them have awarded us a ‘Very Good’ or ‘Excellent’, resulting in this award.”

Some of the comments on a visit to Big Pit include:

“A fascinating insight into the history of mining! and everything's free!”  Cherryann, south Wales

“This has got to be one of, if not the best, excursion venue in Wales and its FREE. The staff ,former coal miners, make the place come to life and you do really go down in the lift to the real coal face.( No Disneyland here).” Tafftraveller, Cardiff

“But the best thing about Big Pit is undoubtedly the miners themselves. They bring the tour and the mine alive with their stories. Highly recommended!” HKDave, Hong Kong

“I wasn't expecting much from this tour, having experienced similar ones, but I was blown away by this place.” Fozzy279, north Wales
