Artist Mundi Prize 2006 — Welsh artist shortlisted for international prize

Welsh artist Sue Williams is one of eight artists chosen for the Artes Mundi, Wales International Visual Art Prize, announced today (Wednesday September 28).

Cardiff based artist Sue Williams is the only artist from the UK chosen as part of the shortlist for the prestigious prize of £40,000. Sue Williams work is a passionate response to the human condition; exploring notions of gender, sexuality and notions of desire. Her work is in a number of public collections including the National Museums & Galleries of Wales, Glynn Vivian Art Gallery, Welsh Assembly Government and numerous and private collections throughout the UK and Europe.
