A new digital resource to support the numeracy framework in primary schools.
22 bilingual activities for year 6 pupils to support geometry, number, data and measuring skills.
The toolkit was developed in partnership with See Science. The toolkit is sponsored by the National Science Academy grant scheme.
Teacher's Guide to Roman Caerleon
An exciting resource that helps you bring the ancient monuments to life. It contains a booklet explaining the background to the fortress with suggested questions, answers and activities. The pack also includes A3 colour images, and a Roman-style measuring string.

Maths in the Museum CPD Meeting

You are invited to attend a FREE CPD focusing on ways to bring the Literacy and Numeracy Framework alive outside the classroom environment. Alessio Bernardelli will encourage you to identify opportunities to developing numerical reasoning in a range of real life situations and across different areas of the curriculum.
There will also be an opportunity to use a new innovative bilingual skills based maths toolkit based on the collections across the National Museums of Wales. The toolkit will include resources to use in teaching the Numeracy Framework, support the development of skills and the transition from primary to secondary school-based learning. A resource pack will also be provided for all teachers who attend.
Travelling costs will be reimbursed

1.00pm - Brief introduction to the “Maths in the Museum” Toolkit and free resource pack
1.30pm - Tour of the Museum to look at relevant resources
2.15pm - Opportunity to try activity from the resource pack
2.45pm - Discussion and closing comments
This teacher CPD will provide an informal and dynamic opportunity to exchange thoughts and views, provide an opportunity for teachers to meet each other and share ideas.

The First World War Education Project
The National Library of Wales and National Museum Wales are leading a project to produce education resources for schools to commemorate the centenary of the First World War. As part of this project we are using items from the collections of both institutions to create digital teaching resources for Hwb.
