A Welsh Mining Community
The row of six mineworkers' houses from Rhyd-y-car has been amongst the most popular attractions at the Museum of Welsh Life, St Fagans, since it was first opened to the public in 1987. Adults and children alike are fascinated by the houses and the different lives recreated within them, representing six different periods from nearly two hundred years of Welsh history. This book — in a new, full-colour edition — illuminates the lives of the families who lived in the Rhyd-y-car area, including archive photographs and interviews with some of the original inhabitants of the houses.
