Welcome to the National Museum Wales web pages. These pages support the training service and provide details of current and new courses.
We have tailored an exciting range of ICT courses developed specifically for teachers. The course contents are based on the successful approach used in training education and professional staff at National Museums & Galleries of Wales .
During the courses you can produce useful resources and tools immediately using application of the skills and knowledge that develops during the course.
Courses are designed and delivered by Chris Bowler .
They have been piloted and evaluated by teachers for relevance to the job. This means that all course contents are relevant to the classroom context.
As a trained teacher Chris understands that teachers need course content that develops a base of secure subject knowledge for teaching and supporting pupils in ICT. They also need to be able to produce teaching aids such as worksheets and presentations rapidly and to a high standard.
The course content and learning objectives address these needs using the powerful tools that are available in the software. There is also the option of free post course support in the applications you have studied
Training is mainly delivered at our IT Training Suite set in the beautiful grounds of St Fagans Castle at the Museum of Welsh Life . There is free parking with pub lunch and refreshments provided. You will have use of your own computer with flat screen TFT monitors and a course book to take away for future reference. The delivery is friendly and informal with questions encouraged no matter how basic or complex!
Some of the courses entail practical activities in the grounds of the national history museum with expert advice from Museum design and photographic professionals.
