Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales

Translation Glossary

Welcome to Amgueddfa Cymru’s Translation Glossary. This is a collection of terms and words we have researched or coined, sometimes with the help of subject specialists. Also included are elements of our house style, event and exhibition titles and details of Amgueddfa Cymru’s seven museums. We hope that others can benefit from this collection, including fellow translators, colleagues and anyone else who works in the field.

We regularly update the glossary, so if you would like to suggest an addition or offer comments, please contact the Translator on (029) 2057 3318 or email

You can search in Welsh or English, but we recommend that you search one word or part of a term rather than the whole.
