Empire: A Roman Spectacular
Old meets modern in a quirky twist on ancient entertainment at Caerleon Amphitheatre
What entertainment would you expect to find in a Roman Amphitheatre? Soldiers? Check, cavalry, check... Free runners? Erm…
On 23 and 24 August the National Roman Legion Museum, Caerleon is again running ‘Empire: A Roman Spectacular’. In an action packed show with something for everyone soldiers will be marching, cavalry riding and gladiators fighting but as a new addition there’ll be free runners, a fire juggler and dancers in the arena.
The shows in the arena aren’t the only attractions either; there’ll be displays from the Romans, including some goodies to buy, willow weaving, juggling workshops, talks in the Barracks and Baths as well as children’s activities and food.
Come and see life 2,000 years ago and have an activity packed day out for all the family.
