EventMake a Solar Cell

National Waterfront Museum
25 & 26 January 2014 , 12.30pm & 2.30pm

Convert sunlight into electricity by making a dye sensitized solar cell from every day materials.  Then test it out to see how much power we have converted.

Single solar cells (Grätzel cells) produce tiny amounts of electricity – just enough to light up a small light bulb or power a calculator, but Larger arrays of solar cells can be used for much larger applications such as Earth-orbiting satellites!

Age 7 +

Delivered by Materials Live – where solar cell technology is being researched just on our doorstep in Swansea Bay.
