EventVolunteers' Week : Behind the Scene of our Iron Age Farm Build

St Fagans National History Museum
26 June 2014 , 11.00am

Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales is showcasing what our volunteers contribute to the Museums during Volunteers’ Week (1-7 of June 2014) with special behind the scene access to collections, tours and a chance meet some of our volunteers.

Our new Iron Age Farm, Bryn Eryr, is currently being built by our staff and volunteers. Why not come along and have a sneak peek at our progress?

The build of Bryn Eryr Iron Age Farm is an exciting new addition to St Fagans National History Museum as part of its redevelopment. With the help of the volunteers working with the Historic Buildings Unit and schools, we hope to do something unique and re-build an important structure that has been hidden in the earth for 2,000 years.

We have received funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Welsh Government to completely transform the visitor experience. Over the next five years developments will include a new entrance hall, learning facilities, new galleries and historic buildings including a medieval Welsh prince’s hall.
